Designer Profile

“I could not have done it myself, and yet it is sooo me!”

Fine design evolves from a trusting collaboration with my clients as we share our passion, respect, and dreams for their home or business. A client’s needs and preferences are the catalyst for creative solutions, and decisions are guided by decades of education and experience with talented craftsmen and exclusive resources.

“Diane’s not just making decisions for you; she’s teaching you how to make them yourself.”

Delegating the details to a knowledgeable personal advisor simplifies your life. Spend your time as wisely as your money, and learn how to harmonize textures, scale, and color from an intuitive mentor. Your ultimate satisfaction is my goal.

I have lectured on the impact of color and pattern while refurbishing senior communities with a compassionate understanding of the aging eye. According to the project manager of my largest renovation, “She is honest, straightforward, and well organized, and was a tremendous asset to the owners.”

I enjoy the challenge of unique projects such as second homes, sororities, dental and medical offices, and television stations. I have traveled from the Canadian border to California, Arizona, and Texas for special clients.

Services Offered

Because your project is unique, services are a la carte---whether writing construction specifications, drafting plans and elevations, or providing procurement for a turn key installation. Personal attention is my priority. Scaled drawings and architectural schedules refine our ideas, instruct craftspeople and verify the details.

Decisions on mantel elevations, stone, tile, millwork, hardware, lighting, plumbing fixtures, furniture, window treatments, bedding, and accessories are expedited through use of my extensive library.

Attention to details done right the first time minimizes delays as decisions are not left to chance.

Referrals are made to qualified craftspeople, with no mark-up on their services. I am ‘on call’ by telephone, email, and site visits to assure only the finest quality products are installed in your home.

Referrals from past clients specific to your project are provided. No project is too small to be special.

A hand-hewn dining table set for ten welcomes family and friends to this 'Ski in, Ski out' community.
Extensive faux painting creates the illusion of a provincial European farmhouse, masking architectural transitions in scale that were displeasing to the client.
The center peninsula segments a long, narrow kitchen in a high-rise condominium, creating an intimate dining space for this urban couple.
Hand-screened ginkgo leaves in the wallpaper, an icon of longevity, symbolize rejuvenation in the soaking tub or steam shower.
Memorabilia from the owner's musical, media, and sport's background inspired creation of his library wall, which was built in seven sections to accommodate installation in a loft.
A four panel 10'W shoji screen, wallpapered to evoke the drama of the opera, required custom hardware from a Swiss manufacturer and retail display components, which were powder-coated and recessed into the carpeting.
An extensive archival display of antique model trains surrounds this family gathering place.
Monumental field stone columns and architectural fir trusses were softened by introducing hand-woven rugs, embroidered fabrics, and hand-hewn wooden furnishings.
Authentic colors of New England were mixed using milk paint, and applied to beadboard to integrate the master bath with the lush, exterior landscape.
Eastern influences migrated West as the owners of this Pacific Northwest estate sought to blend their Adirondack heritage with the site of their second home.
Orchids bathe in the natural light that floods the Rojo Alicante columns and platforms, and shadows play against the crisp white architectural tiles each afternoon.
Continuous cherry countertops accented by a round peninsula provide mutliple conference configurations for two executives who share this home office.
This whimsical color palette was chosen by a teenage actress, and her preppie roots were reflected in furniture hand-crafted in Maine.
