Volunteers
Volunteers are at the heart of our organization. ASID Colorado is recognized nationally for the breadth and scope of services we provide to our members. Listed below are all of the committees that have formed in support of our Chapter’s mission to provide and communicate value to all members.
If you find a group that looks like a good fit for you, please contact the Chair for further information. All ASID Colorado Chapter members (students included!) are welcome to participate – it is the Number ONE way to get involved, and make the most of your membership dollars.
Student Affairs Committee
This committee is responsible for planning Student Events such as the Student Leadership Getnering(s) and the Student Day at the Denver Design District.

Society Awards Nominations Committee
Each year, this committee reviews candidates for the various Society-level awards, recommends applicants and works to complete the submission package as determined by ASID National.

This committee organizes events specifically for members in our Mountain and Western Slope regions.

Sponsorship Committee
The Sponsorship Committee works with companies in Colorado who want to promote their products and services to ASID Designers, and have access to a wide array of benefits for doing so.

Programs Committee
This committee organizes the Chapter’s Programs. Duties include venue selection, program content, event promotion, check-ins and wrap up.

CEU Committee
The CEU Committee surveys organizations in Colorado to find who has qualified instructors for IDCEC-approved CEUs. This information is used by the Programs Committee to find CEU topics for educational programs, and is also available to the membership for the purpose of finding a CEU to bring in-house.

STEP Committee
STEP is an ASID-exclusive training program to prepare designers to sit for the NCIDQ Exam. The program is presented in Colorado at least once a year, and is open to all designers regardless of their membership in ASID. It comprises 2.5 days of practice tests and practicum exercises.

Event Calendar Committee
ASID Colorado maintains a robust calendar of events for all design-related organizations in Colorado. The purpose is to give our members a single place to look for events, and at the same time allows our program planners to schedule events with limited conflicts.

Internships Committee
ASID Colorado maintains a list of available internships for students enrolled in Interior Design programs in Colorado. The committee surveys companies and schools to compile their list.

Emerging Professionals Committee
This committee is charged with ensuring that the chapter provides interaction and events of value for all ASID emerging professionals.

Chapter Quarterly Magazine
Produces a 4-color magazine in coordination with the Chapter Magazine Publisher, who provides the advertising to support it. Magazine staff coordinate submissions to editorial standards, work with writers to produce original content, edit, proofread and approve drafts.

Chapter Directory
Produces a bound directory in coordination with the Chapter Directory Publisher, who provides the advertising to support it. The directory consists of member information, pertinent policies and listings of trade resources.

Website Committee
Maintains the ASID Colorado website in coordination with the Chapter Website Vendor, who provides hosting, domain management and site-wide data. The local Website Chair has access to a content management system, which streamlines the updating of the individual web pages. The Website Committee members should have a basic knowledge of websites, how they are created and maintained.

Weekly Update Committee
ASID Colorado sends the weekly update out each week on Tuesday with information about all of the upcoming events and happenings around the chapter. Committee members are responsible for gathering information, formatting it into the proper content template and sending it out.

Social Media Committee/span>
ASID has a presence on Facebook, Linked In and Twitter. The Social Media Committee is responsible for gathering information and posting it in a timely manner and managing comments and responding as appropriate.

Media Relations Committee
The Media Relations Committee works with other publications (print & electronic) to promote ASID Colorado to the general public, furthering our mission of educating consumers about our profession and the critical role with play in the built environment. This group is responsible for seeking out PR opportunities, gathering content, formatting it for publication and releasing it.
